After graduation I attended the Universityof Idaho graduating in 1969 with a BA in history. I went on to law school at the University graduating with a Juris Doctorate degree in 1972. I practiced law in Boise from 1972 until I retired in 2006. I spent 23 years in the private practice of law and worked for 2 Attorneys General before entering the private sector and for another 2 Attorneys General prior to reitirement.
I have been married to my wonderful wife Nancy for nearly 20 years. We have no children. We have lived in McCall for the last 5 years. We spend our time skiing, boating , hiking, taking care of our dog Sammy, hunting mushrooms and picking berries. We are having the times of our lives !

Terry,

I'm looking forward to seeing you again, at our 50th this weekend.

Memories:  I will never forget the 1964 State Track Meet at Lyle Smith Field at BJC where you jumped higher than you had even done to win state. What an exciting moment.

Thanks,

Steve Oliver

If memory serves he jumped 6'4 3/4" - how I remember that when I can't remember what I had for breakfast this morning I just don't know.

Well, let me 'splain it for you, General, Sir...  (Long term memory really has no cut-off point.  It works for most of us for the 'rest of our days').  What begins to SCREW things UP is when you lose your short-term memory.  (Looking for **** for so long you forgot what you were looking for and WORSE, if you find it,  you can't remember why you NEEDED it

(Yeah, I could write a book!)

TODAY, for instance,  I'm looking for my billfold.   ;)

Hi All,
It is fun to see everyone's updates.
I REALLY wish I could attend this year's reunion, but it is not working out.  So I will provide a brief update.
After graduation, I attended Yale 1964-1966 then served LDS mission to Brazil 1966-1969.  When I returned, the Yale campus was in turmoil over the Vietnam War, so I transferred to BYU and (after having to interrupt school for family reasons) got a BS in physics in 1973. I worked for Billings Energy Corporation 1974--1979 on hydrogen energy and was promoted to Vice President of Research.
Married Cathy Christensen in 1974 and we have eight children...two girls / six boys.  She already had earned her RN degree and is still active as a caser manager at Albany Medical Center.
In 1978, I went back to BYU graduate and received a PhD in chemistry in 1984.
However, in 1981 I took a position at IBM in Endicott, NY, so finished my dissertation via long distance.
In 2000, I transferred with IBM from Endicott to Poughkeepsie, NY where we now live.  Five of our children were born in New York.
I retired from IBM in Sep 2013 as a senior engineer after spending 32 years in computer hardware development and manufacturing. engineering.  It was a "good ride."
When we first moved to New York, I saw Doug Freeman a couple of times at his home in the DC suburbs, but we have lost touch over the years.  At the time he was working for HUD and was married with two daughters.
I heard from Lizz Chandler Tucker a few weeks ago...understand she lives in Boise.
That's about all the contact I have had with you class members.  We used to travel to Boise every 3 years or so when Mom was alive, but it seemed that the time was overfilled with family obligations.
I have always said that the luckiest people in the world are those whose ZIP Codes are 837XX.  We do plan to vote in the 2016 Presidential elections in Idaho!
Wish we were there this year to share memories in person.
Best regards,
Barrie
PS>  Thanks to Steve and his committee for planning, organizing and executing this reunion!!!  The outcome has been TOP NOTCH, as I am sure the event itself will be also!!

Happy New Year to all.  I hope 2015 is your best ever.  Some say we are getting older...I contend, that we are getting better!  I may be walking around in a 68 year old body but my spirit is still 18.

If you get a chance, please send your blog or profile so we can keep up with you.  Also, send me any emails from your Borah contact list so I can update my files.

Thoughts and words from Garrison Keiller:

Nothing you do for children is ever wasted. They seem not to notice us, hovering, averting our eyes, and they seldom offer thanks, but what we do for them is never wasted.

Happy Day!!

Good day Borah class of 1964,

I hope you all are doing well.  I'm sure you are tired of hearing from me regarding this web site and your profile and blog entries, but I am like a burr in the saddle...unrelenting.

So unless you complete your profile information I'll keep on digging. I/we just want to hear what you have been doing the past 50 years.  And, if you are so moved, to send along a picture or two.

As I have emailed recently, we are planning to have mini reunions every year from now on.  The first weekend in August as been set, so please put it on your calendar today.  The initial plan will be to have a no-host informal social gathering on Friday night and then a family picnic on Saturday.  We'll let you know the details as we get closer to July 31/August 1, 2015.

As you can see, we still have too many classmates listed as missing in action.  If you are in contact with any, please let me know.  And, please review the memorial page to see those classmates who have passed on and let me know if others need to be added.

Take care, be well and have fun.
