Rudy and family resided in Orofino from 1970 to 1992, Moscow, Idaho, from 1992 to 1994 and Viola, Idaho, from 1994 to 2006.

Before cancer forced his retirement in 2004, Rudy worked as a project superintendent for Palouse Empire Inc. and the Structural Estimator for Washington State University. Rudy was preceded in death by his father, Rudolph Alonzo, Sr. in 2004. He is survived by his wife, Cathie, who resides at their home in Yelm; his sons Jamie (Hamden, Conn.) and Wade (Yacolt, Wash.); five grandchildren; mother, Dorathy Alonzo (Nampa, Idaho); and sisters Christina Culdice (Boise) and Jonette Flores (Nampa). Annette was a dear friend who married my cousin, Bill and loved and cared for him. The love story they lived brings tears to my eyes every time I think about them.  She was a blessing to all who knew her and I miss both her and Bill who preceeded her in death by only about a month.  I'm sure God has provided ponys for both of them.  XOXO

From Steve Oliver on February 4th, 2014

This information about the late Ed Troxel provided by Steve Oliver:

Coach Ed Troxel died January 22, 2001 of pancreatic cancer at the age of 75. A special memorial service was held Saturday April 7, 2001 in the New Borah High School Auditorium. Representatives from all schools he coached, from his first high school in Colorado, College of Idaho, Borah (all classes from 1959 - 1966), University of Idaho and Kennewick High school spoke about Coach Trox and the impact he had on so many lives. The theme that wove it's way through all talks was that our Coach Troxel left huge footprints, eternal tracks, a path to follow. God only makes a few like Trox to serve in this life. He was to be the inspiration for us. Taking the theme from a recent movie about "paying it forward" we can know our mission...we are to take what we learned from coach, the impressions he made in our lives, the positive attitude and will to be all that we can be and reach out to others sharing his legacy. Let's "keep his memory alive". Pass it on.

As time passes, names and faces have become a blurr.  I looked Larry up in my yearbook today and foundly rembered conversations we shared years ago.  Our class was quite large and I came to Borah from St. Theresas my Junior year.  There were a number of us who transfered from there.  None of us wants to face our own mortality, least of all me and browsing the memorial page really struck home.  My prayers and thoughts to his family.  Pam
